Do you know where Jane Pym was from. Could it have been England.

I don't know for sure. Jane and her husband were living in Coleraine, Londonderry, Northern Ireland in 1844. There were a few Pim/Pym families in Ireland about that time but I just don't have any way to make a connection.

Are there alot of Pym names around. I do not see many of them. My mother-in-law is from England. She moved to the states after the war. I'll see if I can find any connections.

hi. the pims that are in ireland are FROM england according to my research.

I got this from another website:
http://www.genforum.geneology.com/pim/

To the many folks on this list who are researching their PIM ancestors, I have a source for you that should prove very interesting. I came across a chapter on Quakers in Ireland in the book "Irish and Scotch Irish Ancestral Research" Vol. 1, by Falley.

Antrim, Ireland and follows them through Co. Cavan and into Co. Queens in the area around Mountmelick. In this chapter, many of the names of the original group are listed, including John PIM. This all took place in the mid to late 1600's.

This chapter also tells of the extensive records of b/m/d and Minutes of Meetings that were kept by the Quakers and where these records are located. From what I can see from this chapter, these records are a goldmine.

Jane PIM m.in Ireland James Mcilravey, their son James b. abt 1844 Ireland. The son was in Greenock, Renfrew, Scotland by 1866; looking for family connections for Jane. Thanks.
