I would like very much to compare notes on
Nicholas Pyle. Some researchers feel that
John and Samuel Pyle, who are listed in the
1800 Census for Oglethorpe Co., GA, are sons
of Nicholas, but nobody seems to have any
firm knowledge. If you can give me the 13
children you have, I would be very grateful.

John:
Here is the data you ask for..
1. Thompson Pyle, b. abt. 1804 Christian County, Kentucy.
2. Alfred Pyle, b. October 12, 1806 Christian County, Kentucky.
3. Nicholas Pyle Jr., b. about 1787
4. Richard Pyle m. Susannah Harrison in Logan County, Kentucky June 23, 1797
5. John Pyle, b. June 18, 1813
6. Abner Pyle, m. Sarah Wells
7. Samuel Pyle, m. Elizabeth Harrison
8. David Pyle, m. Polly Cavannah
9. Nancy Pyle, m. Benjamin Crabtree
10.Sarah Pyle, m. Robert Hall
11.Susannah Pyle, m. William Brooks
12.Jane Pyle, m. David Lacy
I found the following but still question them!
13.Samuel Pyle, m. Eunice Stuart
14.John Pyle Jr., m. Mary Wells
15.Samuel Pyle Jr.,m. Susannah Padfield
Too many Samuel's and John's in the same family. The Nicholas Pyle family line is confusing and I'm not sure anyone really has it clearly solved. I would be interested in what you think and have on this Nicholas Pyle one of six in my family line. Hope this helps you!

Thank you very much for your information. It
is clear that we are not talking about the
same Nicholas Pyle. According to my sources,
it is the Nicholas Pyle born about 1750 and
married about 1771 that had nineteen
children. And the names John and Samuel seem
to have been very popular. I seem to have
found several families where there were more
than one John and Samuel. At any rate, the
oldest son of my ancestor, Samuel Pyle of GA,
was a Nicholas. Let's keep looking!

This is not my Pyle line- I'm descended from Dr. John Pyle Jr. who married Sarah Breazier- but I ran across this while looking for something else. The John Pyle who married Mary Wells was a son of John Pyle and Sarah Breazier, not Nicholas.
The following is a transcript of a cemetery located south of Lebanon, St. Clair Co., IL, which is apparently all descendants of Nicholas or close relatives. I have not seen the cemetery myself. The transcript was sent by Robert C. Reinhardt of Midland, Michigan, and was done in 1981 by Orville Baer, the farmer on whose land it was or is located:
Lawson Pyle b. 4-7-1819 d. 7-15-1866
William Pyle d. 9-21-1849 aged 34 yr. 1 day
Alfred Pyle d. 3-3-1851 aged 45 yr. 5 mo. 22 days
Wife of A. Pyle b. 1-15-1809 d. 9-19-1849 [Bob Reinhardt inserted in front of "wife" the name Melinda Padfield. These people who died in 1849 might be in the mortality schedule for 1850]
Samuel Pyle d. 8-2-1834 aged 48 yrs. 6 mo. 7 days
Susan Pyle- no legible dates
Jesse R. Berry d. 11-4-1840 aged 33 yrs.
Louisa E. Thompson died 9-25-1856 aged 14 yr. 11 mo. 27 d. daughter of Rev. S. H. Nancy Thompson
Dr. John J. Thompson d. 1-10-1857 aged 32 yr. 11 mos 2 d. son of S. H. Nancy Thompson
Samuel F. A. Thompson died 12-18-1856 aged 22 yr. 11 mo. 9 d. son of Rev. S.H. Nancy Thompson
Nancy Thompson d. 8-30-1855 aged 61 yr. 7 mo. 21 d. wife of the Rev. S.H. Thompson
As I said, this is not my line, and I really have no other info on this
