Can anyone help with any information on the above child who died at the age of 13.1938-1950. He was the son of William Pyett and Violet (Chapman)Pyett. All three are buried in St. Thomas, Ontario where some of my Lenchuck family lived.

I sure can! He was my father's (William Pyett jr.) brother. They were adopted by William Pyett sr. along with their sister Lynn, after Vi (my grandmother) had divorced Mr. Lenchuck. If you want further details feel free to ask.

In a similar vein I was wondering if you had information regarding my actual grandfather Mr. Lenchuck. For whatever reason he was never allowed to be spoken of, even so far as his grandchildren not being allowed to know his first name, thus the title Mr. Lenchuck.

Thanks and hope to hear back soon!

How very nice to hear from you, Jason.

I think your grandfather "Mr. Lenchuck" might be my Dad's brother, Bill (William) who lived in Port Stanley, I think. He is buried in St. Thomas Cemetery, in a grave separate from his wife Edith. I could be wrong since both Uncle Bill and his wife Edith, whom I never met are buried under the surname of Cojocari.

The story goes like this. My father is one of 7 children that I know of, and he was the youngest. He was born Ilie Cojocariu in 1916 in Sask, his parents being Constantin Cojocariu and Cleonfira (Dora), nee Craciun.

According to an affadavit done in 1941 by my grandmother Cleonfira, Constantin died when my Dad (Alexander Christopher) was about 4 years old. Cleonfira then married a George Lenchuck and my Dad took the name Lenchuck and had lived all his life as a Lenchuck.

From the research I have done to date, it appears that the oldest children consistently used the Cojocari name and the younger ones used the Lenchuck name most of the time.

I had an uncle George who immigrated to England with his wife Vera and died over there and his immigration papers list his name as Lenchuck. So George might be another possibility, especially since Robert has George as a middle name.

Are you confused yet? My father never talked about his family, parents or siblings. I have found nothing on Constantin Cojocari, very little on Cleonfira and again very little on Dad's siblings. I also have found nothing yet on George Lenchuck, my Dad's stepfather.

So Lynn and your father William must be my cousins. And Vi Pyett was my aunt, I guess, at least when she was married to a Lenchuck.

I have just made contact with a Cojocari cousin after over 60 years and his mother (my aunt) is still alive at 92. It has been wonderful to get re-acquainted, although not much genealogical information has been attained.

I hope this helps somewhat and I will be more than pleased to talk to you more. Maybe this could be a break through. If you want to contact me my email is bbs.erin@gmail.com.
