Last name Pyett

Hello Irene,
My name is Pyett and yes we live in Canada. I have heard that some of my relatives have made quite a through documentation of our family tree and its branches following it back to the UK.

Sounds like a match. Or close enough to be some sort of distant cousins. We also have some relatives in Akron Ohio and other parts of the US.

Hello Steven
Just noticed your message to Irene, she is in touch with me as a distant cousin, I live in Suffolk, where most of the Canadian Pyett's originate from.
Gone back to 1630 over here, like to see where you fit in
Regards
Garry

I am part of the Akron Pyetts, now living in Michigan. My father, also Stan Pyett, was son of Arthur Allan Pyett, who moved down to the US after WWI. My father had 3 sisters, all of whom survived him. I believe the western Pyett's (in Saskatchewan) have the most history all written down. The last name has a variant of Piott, and there were about 1744 of us related to an episcopalian cleric who came over to Canada in about 1850.

My great grandmother Beulah was of this line, the Pyett's she was born in Canada, then moved to Akron, OH. She died a few years back, was very talkative about the lineage, said it was originally French, and moved to Enlgand during the Middle Ages, then to Canada.
