My husband, Rupert Pybus, is a direct descendant of this John Pybus.
I also have a reference to Marten Cooper linked to this John Pybus. Can you shed any light on that?
This John Pybus is the 3rd son of William Pybus, Solicitor in Hull and Author of "Pybus's Manual" which was published in 1795. He had 8 children. 2 brothers are named William Pybus and Richard Pybus. Richard Pybus's descendants live in Tasmania (Cassandra Pybus).

Jen,
I was excited to read your post.
If you have linked my John Pybus (1809) into your family and thus to his ancestors and also to the Australian Pybus's, then that would be great.
You said that your late husband Rupert was related to my John, and in another message you said that Rupert's father was Paul K, and Paul's father was a John Pybus in Torquay/Newton Abbot. Does that mean you have made a link from this John in Torquay back to the Hull Pybus's ??
If so, can you give me that link?
You also mentioned a book "Pybus's Manual" published in Hull in 1795. That is the first I have heard of it, what is it, and is it possible to get a copy or read it somehow ?
Actually, anything you have concerning this William who wrote the book and his family including 3 sons, William (father of Gladys 1845-), Richard (1791- gr gr grandfather of Cassandra), and my John (1809- married Hannah Pickering and had 8 children, plus 2 who died, I think) ??

Hi Phillip
:-) I posted a reply to one of your earlier messages asking if you knew anything more, and only now read this last posting of yours - my apologies!
I can email you the family tree such as I have it at the moment (excel format). Are you able to email me directly? (I profess not to know how to source your email address from this message board)
I have since also 'presumed' some more links, which may turn out to be 'true', but am awaiting a response from some people. I'll be able to add those presumptions to the excel doc.
Yes, it would be quite exciting to find a link directly between you and Rupert.
I had made an error in the posting about Rupert's death. John Pybus is not Paul's father. Edgar Montague Pybus is. John is Rupert's g g grandfather.
I hope you can email me directly.
Regards
Jenneke

Hi Phillip
I've made the direct link. You have an uncle named 'Bill' (William Michael), who married Elizabeth, and they have children: Peter, Sarah, Charles and Elizabeth? Your cousins? I only have Bill as son of Sydney James. Sydney also has 2 sisters, Kate and Doris, and a brother, (Sir) Percy John, who was minister of Transport in the 1920's. Your great grandfather, John, was Alderman John Pybus of the Hull City Council, along with his brother in law, Dr Briggs.
You would also be 3rd cousin to Cassandra Pybus, who is at the University of Tasmania. She is descendent of Richard Pybus, son of William Pybus, author of Pybus' Manual
Hope you can email me directly.
Regards
Jenneke

Hi Jen,
You should have my email by now, ppybus@intersys.com.
Your message is almost all correct, just a few changes and additions:
Yes, my uncle Bill married Elizabeth Brett Young, and they have 4 childen, but the 4th is Kate (not Elizabeth)
Bill's father Sydney also had John Stephen (my father, 1920-)
Sydney not only had sisters Kate and Doris, and (famous) brother Percy, but also a brother Herbert born 1873 in Hull

I know i have some relative buried in our village cemetery with the name
someone pickering pybus

my mum (she is a pybus)said they were her cousin? and that the pickering part was a name passed on from the pickering side of that family .
I can visit the cemetery and look and see if there is a headstone and see what it says.
May not be conected at all.
