Trying to tie my Pyburns from VA to the son's of John Pyburn Sr...
So we know we start in Maryland...with John Piborn Sr.'s will...Prince George Co, MD...Sep. 23, 1747...To son John, to son Benjamin, to daughter Ruth, to daughter's Mary, Rachel Calvin and Sarah Prather, wit by Benjamin Chitty, Charles O'neal, and George Nichols. no mention of his wife..interesting, my Pyburn marries a chitty...
Information on John Pyburn Sr... He was born I think 1685...
Records show he witnessed the will of Edward Burgess in Anne Arundel; Maryland on the 14th of March, 1722
His property was valued at 75 pounds 13 shillings 2 pence.
Will of John Pyburn dated 09/23/1747 Prince Georges County Maryland named Jacob & Benjamin as executors. Names children John, Benjamin, , Ruth, Mary, Rachel (Calvin) & Sarah (Prather), will proven 11/25/1747, gives John stock, Benjamin stock & care of orphan Charles Hyatt to age 21, Ruth given choice, Mary stock, Rachel & Sarah stock.
John & Jacob moved to Lunenburg County Virginia c1749 & Benjamin listed in 1752
(Research): All Hallows Parish Register 1669-1721, Ann Arundel County, Maryland - birth
Maryland Calendar of Wills, Vol. V, p143.
John, Jacob and Benjamin would have had to be at least 21 years old in 1747, so they were born no later than 1726...by 1800 they would have been at least 74 years old.
John Pyburn appears to have been in the militia 1770's of Virginia, but is not listed in American revolutionary records. This could easily be a grandson of John Sr, but I suppose a fifty something year old man could have been in the militia.
Benjamin served in the Am Revolution, it is unclear which state he was in. Lunenberg Co., part of which became Pittsylvania county has records for land grants in Tennesee and NC, so finding a record doesn't pinpoint where he is...Washington Co VA records show 1777 Benjamin as a convicted felon, and we find mention of his old land patent in Washington Co, TN, not VA in 1799, sounds like he's dead by then...supposedly his son Jacob Pyburn though is in Tennessee...he is signed a petition to form Roane County, TN in 1799. This Jacob was likely born no earlier than 1745, so he is probably in his 50's? Benjamin was listed as a deserter May 20, 1776
We have Jacob Pyborn, the father of Sarah Pyborn, married to Charles Eades, he is a rev war soldier. and we have Nancy Elizabeth Pyburn married to Austin Choate...both girls were at least 16 in 1776, so we have a birthdate for them of 1760's. ****Charles EADES b 14 July 1760 Montgomery Co Md, d 3 May 1823 Wayne Co Ky. married . Sarah PIBORN b 9 Apr 1764 Md, d 25 Sept 1852 , married May 2, 1786 Bedford Co, VA
Next we jump ...we have Jacob in Buncome NC in 1790, appointed guardian of Edward Pyburn in 1792. Refered as a friend, Jacob could be an Uncle or a cousin, but I doubt a brother. This Edward was less than 21, so we know Edward was born no earlier than 1772. From Census of 1800, we know Jacob was born before 1755, and Christopher Pyburn was born 1755-1774.
I also found records for a land entry 1786 for a Barbara Pyburn in Bedford Co, VA.(Virginia Archives) Sarah Piborn and Charles Eades also lived in Bedford Co., VA
Jacob Pyburn, land title found, no 165 in Buncombe, NC
NC Rev war accounts for Eman, Ben and Elias J. Pyburn in NC archives..
