Cindy,

What are the dates involved? Although this does not pertain to my line directly, I have access to information which may help you. I know of a Glenn Pyatt, but I don't think this is him. But depending on your timeline, I may be able to find other Glenns. With any luck, you will go back to Joseph Pyatt and Sarah Jane Still. He was born in 1755 in England and raised his family in NC after the Revolutionary War. And presumably we can go further than that.

Cindy,

I did find Glenn and Mae (Buchanan) Pyatt. This far into the generations, I don't have a lot of detail, but he DOES go back to Joseph and Sarah (Jane) Still Pyatt and beyond. My source of information is a book by Martha Pyatte called "THE PYATTES OF WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA", written in 1976. There are known to be errors and incomplete information in the book. The book shows Glen and Mae with four daughters, Barbara, Joyce, Nancy, and one whose name was not known who married a Buchanan and was married at least a second time.

Karen,

I hope you get this. I have seen your name before in places where I have wanted to contact you and couldn't.

I don't know if you have found anything more on your ancestry yet, but I found something you might be interested in. My source is a book titled "Pyattes of Western North Carolina" by Martha Pyatte. Researchers I have come in contact with say her information is not always accurate, but it is a start.

I have Wayne Francis Pyatt, born 8 June 1933, father, Robert Theodore Pyatt, born 26 Jan 1903, his father,Ivey Lee Pyatt, 25 Jan 1876, his father, Samuel Davis Pyatt, 18 Dec 1850, his father, John Davis Pyatt, born 1822, his father, James Pyatt, born 1788, his father Joseph Pyatt, born 1755 in Coventry, England.

Hope this helps.

Cindy,

I don't know if the book is still in print or not. Someone who had a coopy of the book xeroxed me the pages of the genealogy. I don't know how much of the book she DID NOT xerox for me. And it depends on what you want. I will e-mail this person and see exactly how much of the book she did xerox for me. If all you wanted was the genealogy, I could copy that for you if I had your snail mail address. On the other hand, someone else who expressed interest in the book said that her library was going to get it for her. Don't know how well that will turn out. Just let me know how you want me to handle it, and I will see what I can do.

Hi, I'm related to George Pat Morgan Peyatt and 2nd wife Flossie Case. (Rella was my great-grandmother's sister) and George is a cousin of mine. I'm related to the Peatts (and other spellings) several times over. I would love to share info with you, if possible. My 4th ggrandmother was Mary Elizabeth Peatt who married John C. Ward. Mary was the daughter of William Pyatt and Mary Smith.
Please let me know if you would like to communicate.
Thanks!
