Puyear Cemetery west of East Prairie, Mo.

Looking for the names of persons buried in the Puyear Cemetery. This cemetery is in a 1 acre patch of woods in the middle of a field just west of the city of East Prairie, Mo. and East of Hwy. BB.

I have not seen any gravestones at this time because of thick vegitation. Was told gravestones were there. These could also be footstones with only letters of the given, middle, and surename.

The following children (and their families) of Hensley E. Puyear lived for a time in Mississippi County, Missouri: John Herman, Vada (female, married Herbert B. Price), and Ray Willie.

Hensley's brother William Elza also spent some time in that county. Sometime around 1920 William changed his surname to Prayor.

Thanks for the information. I am going to call the people who own the land so I can go in the cemetery and try to find out who is buried there. Was told the cemetery had been vandalised about 25 years ago and one grave had been dug into. Gravestones were also broken and displaced.
