Is there anyone related to a Jesse Puyear who died in Tx. I was told that I was probably related to anyone who spelled their name this way.

My Father's brother was Jesse Puyear. I believe his name was spelled Jesse. He died in Greenville, Texas. The year, I'm not sure about. In the 1950's, probably mid 50's.

Do you have anybody in your family tree who went abroad? Thanks.

The only Puyear's that I know of is Jesse Windrop Puyear and his wife , who is my great grandmother, Ruby. They had a son Glenn and a daughter Jesse Maxine. That is all I know. If you are any relation I would like to know more. Thanks, Brad

Glenn and Jesse also had a brother, Obie W., who was killed in Italy in WWII.
Several members of this family are buried in the Como Cemetery, Hopkins County, Texas.

How are you related to them? I am Maxine's grandson.

I am not related to this line directly except to the extent that we all seem to descend from Samuel and Elizabeth Puryear in early 1700 Virginia. Some of the Puryears who went to Kentucky have adopted the Puyear spelling.
I am a gatherer of info on people with the surname Puryear. My collection also includes about 300 people with the name Puyear.
My records show Jessie Maxine Puyear to be the daughter of Jesse Windrop and Ruby Jennings Puyear. I show ancestors of Jesse Windrop Puyear to be (1) James Matthew and Dora Hothcox Puyear (2) Jesse and Deborah Caulk Puyear/Puryear (3) Samuel and Lavinia Harding Puryear (4) Jesse and Elizabeth Rice Puryear (5) Thomas and Margaret Bowles Puryear (6) Samuel and Elizabeth Puryear.
Please let me know if you do not agree with any of this.
Jeffry Puryear

Actually I haven't been able to find anything past Jesse Windrop Puyear and Ruby. They both died before I got into geaneolgy and my grandmother didn't know that much about the line, because he died when she was little. This gives me something to go on. Thanks alot.

Are you a sister to Lois Ray and Coy?

Jeffry, My GG-grandmother was Ellen Elizabeth Puryear Elliott, daughter of Jesse and Deborah Caulk Puryear. I recently discovered one of Ellen's brothers was James Matthew Puyear and settled in Hopkins, Texas. Ellen settled in Washington County, Arkansas around February 1887. I'm wondering if you might know anything about Ellen and Matt's other siblings? Any help would be appreciated. Jane
