I've just recieved Mary Anns Birth certificate and it confirms her father was George Weddell and her mother Elizabeth Weddell previously Cheesman formerly Puxty
She was born 2nd Sept 1851.
Interestingly the registrar is a Wm Cheesman - I wonder if he was related to Elizabeths first husband Jessie Cheesman?

Hi Barbara
just got my certificates back :
Thomas Woddle, married Judith Puxty 11th April 1846 at Ticehurst. (both listed as full age). Fathers Peter Puxty & Robert Woddle. Witnesses: Peter Puxty & Harriett Woddle
George Woddle, married Elizabeth Cheeseman / Puxty 11th April 1846 at Ticehurst. (both listed as full age). Fathers Peter Puxty & Robert Woddle. Witnesses: Peter Puxty & Harriett Woddle
John Puxty, married Sarah Balcombe 18th April 1846 at Ticehurst. (23 & 20 res.). Fathers Peter Puxty & None Listed. Witnesses: William & Mary Sorrell
so Peter Puxty had 3 of his children married within a week.
and Peter Puxty & Robert Weddle had 3 each of their children married to each other. (becouse Peter Puxty jnr married Jane Woddle in 1840).
Phew!!!

Thanks Dave
Blimey - that was quite a busy week to get married for the families!
I'll take a peek at your site later and nose. I'll be putting my certs up on my tree once scanned - I'll send an invite for you so you can have a nose.
BTW did you use a specific genealogy software to get your tree up online?

Nope
blood, sweat, tears, a large XHTML book, more sweat, and did I mention the blood? - joking about the blood.
I started even before the internet (20 years ago) using Microsoft Word to type up each family on a seperate piece of paper. even my code numbers came from that. then when broadband came, I decided to use the free website offer to start the site. so I saved the files as HTML files, added hyperlinks using Word, and posted it using their website tools.
since then they dropped their free websites, so I started again using a website hosting company, about £3 a month for 500MB of space. I then brought a large book on XHTML and started writing basic templates and cut and pasted the data into them. used CSS files for the formatting, added pictues, trees, certificates, etc and there u go :-)
of course, as there are over 300 pages of information plus hundreds of photos and certificates, I'm still re-writing it. So you can see the difference from the old crude pages, and the swanky new ones. - its changing daily. Its actually quite easy when you get used to it.
I use Notepad to write the basic text
Word to create the trees using its text box (with the box lines turned off) and draw lines drawing functions - very simple
Actmask to convert word documents to JPG's
GIMP2 to crop and resize JPG's to fit the page.
Filezilla to upload the HTML and JPG files to the web hosting company
and thats that - simple :-)
and you get much more satisfaction than getting someone else to do it for you.
hope that helped.

Initial reaction - aarrrggghhh!
It's yonks since I did any webpage design - and that was light hearted entertainment to do with my then pets - guineapigs!
Hmm methinks a reinstall of the webpage design package and a play is in order and talking to the hubby re the use of our webspace!
Or I might look into the rootsweb stuff.

Hi Gwen,
My cousins tree is on genesreunited as is mine.
I haven;t copied all his across to mine as there are some possible inaccuracies.
I can however export mine into a GED file if you know what to do with it/ Just send me your email address and I can forward it on.
I'm also going to Kent next week and will be visiting Benenden where the Puxty's originated, so if there's any graves or anything you want to have looked up I'll see what I can do.
Regards
Robert
