Hi Sarah & Ed
I too have an interest in CANNON & PUXLEY.
Have regular contact with Arlie and others.
Particular interest is: Eliza Ellen CANNON 20 yrs (father James - deceased at time of marriage) married John Peter Fincham PUXLEY (father George William PUXLEY also deceased at time of marriage.) Married Bethnal Green July 26 1885. Then lived in Harwich, ESSEX

Puxley family seems to originate from Milton, KENT and moved to Harwich, ESSEX. FINCHAM family probably originated from Iselham, CAMBRIDGESHIRE.

Hi Arlie,

After 3 years of going round in (loose) circles trying to locate details on my grandfather/ great grandfather my niece has discovered the following;

Grandfather: Arthur Herbert Puxley born 26th February 1882 and lived at No 10 Stockley Terrace, The Grove, South Lambeth, London. Moved to High Street, Bexley, Kent where he married Rosetta Sarah Elizabeth Andrews (b. 11/4/1893) They were married at St Marys Church Bexley on 23/11/1913

Great grandfather: John William Puxley ( a coachman) who married Annie Hope - no dates or location.

Does this tie in with any of your (or anyone elses) research?

Best Wishes, Julian

Hi Julian, nice to hear from you. At present those names don't ring any bells - but I am still getting my head around all the names (been off doing other stuff for quite a while). Will keep in touch with you regardless. I am still trying to work out the whole 'lot of us' - which might be a bit more than I can chew, but it keeps me busy :-)

Stay in contact. There are a few of us with renewed vigour on the Puxley trail! Regards, Arlie

Hi,
My Nanas' mum is a puxley. We're in Melbourne Australia. My Nan is also trying to find out about them. We don't know much about the puxley's though.

Hi,

Sorry I replyed with the wrong side of the family on my mind. I get so confused with the different names. hehe. It's my grandfather who should be a puxley but his dad left or something and he took his mums' name (hillman). Anyway his dad in from england and his name was either Harry or Henry Puxley. That's all we know.

Would that be the Lucy that live in Forrest Gate in 1973?
The Lucy Puxley that had a next door neighbour from Scotland?
If so please e-mail me at jay.crawford@realradio.co.uk
