Yuna,

Do you happen to know what dates your grandfather was born, and about when he immigrated?

My Puteri ancestors lived in sam Mango and immigrated to Pennsylvania and Canada in the 40's and 50's

Yes my grandfather Francesco was born in 1921 and his father Carmine was born in 1892. His mother Francesca was born in 1896. They all immigrated to around Scranton in Pennsylvania in the 20's. Not sure the exact year.

My family also lives in Scranton. What I have on the Puteri line is this:

Leopoldo Puteri married Theresa Bonacci, they lived in San Mango
they had 3 known children, however they may have has more (Possibly your great-grandfather)
1. Saveria Puteri (1881-1940) married Francesco Arcuri and immigrated to Ohio
2. Francesco Puteri (1884-1969) married to Maria-Giuseppe Pagliuso, had 5 children, their son Leopoldo immigrated to Scranton, their two daughters Teresina and Gasperina immigrated to Winipeg,Canada
3. Angelo Puteri

Do you think it is possible that your great-grandfather is a member of this family? What other San Mango families do you connect to? Do you have a copy of your great-grandfathers death certificate? The information in that should give the names of his parents.

It seems that there were very few last names that were common in San Mango, and that many of the immigrants ended up coming to Scranton.
