YOUNGSTOWN - John Push, 91, of Mona Lane, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 4, 2011, at his home.
John was born Aug. 19, 1919, in Youngstown, Ohio and was a life long area resident of Mahoning County.
Mr. Push was a decorated World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Pacific theater.
He was awarded a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and a Purple Heart for his service.
He was a long-time employee of Youngstown Steel Door.
John was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Youngstown. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening, and was a devoted family man who was a kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
His wife of nearly 60 years, Helen G. Medvec Push, whom he married May 29, 1947, passed away April 16, 2007.
John leaves a son, Randy (Louise) Push; three daughters, Karlyn Schoenfeld, Marcie Hinebaugh, and Linda (Tom) Miller; four grandchildren, Haley (Marshall), Adam, Dan, and Jeffrey; and a great-grandson, Noah.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, at 1 p.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 613 N. Lakeview Ave., Youngstown.
Committal services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
Memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to Senior Independence Hospice, 6715 Tippecanoe Road, Canfield, OH 44406.
