PUSEY & PUZEY in Shoreditch, London, ENG (1816+)
Hello.....
Currently researching two lines of PUSEY / PUZEY's from the the Shoreditch area of London/Middlesex dating back to c1816. We believe that the two lines connect c1816 in the form of brothers John & Stephen born to parents Stephen PU(SZ)EY & Charlotte
Nearly all of the men in the two family's were Chimney Sweeps with the females in occupations (when listed) like flower girl / dress maker etc...
Names that commonly appear are - Stephen, John, Charles, Charlotte, Sarah, Ann, Mary & Elizabeth
Let me know what you think
Kindest Regards Claire

Thanks for Reply re: PUZEY
Hi Kate.....
Thank you for your response, it is most appreciated. Your 1892 PO Directory entry would certainly be connected to my PUZEY's, #2 Boot Street is an address which has "popped" up many, many times in relation to my ancestors, of which all the men are known to have been Chimney Sweeps but this is the first time one of the women has been named as one
What made you notice the PUZEY name in the Directory, are you also researching them??

Family Connection to Anthony PUZEY of London, ENG
Hi Claire, my hubands is descended from Anthony Puzey who was a hat manufacturer in Titchbourne Street London. His daughter, Sarah, married Thomas Thurlow also of Titchbourne Street. In the London trade directories that I looked at, there were a small number of Puzey's but Elizabeth was the only chimney sweeper.

Sarah PUZEY & George BONE marr 1850 London, ENG
Hello Claire,
I am researching my partners family tree 'Bone'. Her 2G-grandfather George Bone b. 1828 Shoreditch, married Sarah A. Puz(s)ey b. c.1830/1 in London, Blackfriars?
They were married c.1850 in London, St. Pancras? and had at least 6 children.
I believe her parents were Charles and Sarah.
I would be interested if any of the above ties in with details you might have. I am in the UK,
Thanks
Mark

Re: PUSEY & PUZEY in Shoreditch, London, ENG (1816+)
Hi - I know this is a really late reply but I'm trying to trace my grandfather's family, I know nothing about them. I hope you're still monitoring/researching this.
I found out my grandfather, Frederick Leonard Pusey was born in Shoreditch in 1931 to a mother with the maiden name Hudson, does this fit in with your research at all??
