YOUNGSTOWN – Ann M. Sharfal, 95, of the city’s west side, passed away early Sunday afternoon, Dec. 1, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Youngstown, OH.

Ann was born Aug. 17, 1918, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Terlesky Pusch, and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Sharfal was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Youngstown, and was a member of its St. Mary Sisterhood.

Her husband, Samuel S. Sharfal, whom she married Aug. 10, 1939, passed away Aug. 12, 2001.

Ann leaves two sons, Ronald (Claire) Sharfal and Thomas Sharfal, both of Austintown, Ohio; a daughter, Gail (Martin) Trembly of Prescott, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, Lewis, and Charles Pusch; and by a daughter-in-law, Linda Sharfal, who passed away Sept. 30, 2013.

Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, OH
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, and continue at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church on North Belle Vista Avenue.

Interment will follow at the parish cemetery, where Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband.
