The Purcells that I am researching moved from Hardin County, Ky in the mid 1850s to Saline County, Mo, somewhere around Miami or Marshall. Then moved on eventually ending in the Kansas City area. The children were William Quinn, Purham B, James and John, Rosa, Nancy, Eliza, Teresa, George, Mary and Joseph. I believe that Purham went to Cherokee County Kansas where he was a doctor. William Quinn went to Denver then back to Kansas City, he was a pharamacist.

Your msg said many of this family went to GA
I have hundreds of Georgia PURCELLs in my files but cannot find the origin of our earliest 3 brothers who arrived in GA about 1790 and told the 1800 census takers they were born in NC. CAN YOU HELP ME??? I will gladly share what i have done.
These three brothers were Jacob b. 1773, Ignatius and John. I would really appreciate a response at bonedigr@concentric.net

Charles, I still can't help you with your Georgia Purcells. However I have recently learned of a Levander Purcell of Mecklenburg Co., NC (Charlotte) who had a son named Albert Leland Purcell (born c 1834) and maybe a son named James (born c 1833). James lived in York Co., SC (across the line from Mecklenburg Co., NC) and had a son named Albert Leland Purcell. I think I have already given you this information. If not these would be two good places to look. I suspect that Levander Purcell and his wife Marie Stultz have a connection with my family but I have no proof yet. By-the-way, was Jacob Purcell a Presbyterian, Baptist or what?
