The power of the Internet is incredible. I can't believe that I found you this easily. I related your response to my Mother. I am very sorry to receive this information. I remember your parents, but did not really know them; however, I do recall that my parents respected them very much.
It sounds like you have had a wonderful academic and professional career. I'm sure that your parents would be very proud. Again, if ever I can help you obtain information re: your mother's family, please let me know and I will inquire with my Mother.
Thanks for the picture. It's great to put a name w/ a face. Unfortunately, I'm using my wife's computer (mine is in repair) and, thus, cannot reciprocate. Then again, it may be a blessing.
Take care and best wishes.

I have been trying to find James and Catherine Puorro - was this Catherine DelVisco Puorro, born 1912, daughter of Michelangelo DelVisco and Mary Stevens? Hope to hear from you. Teri

Am trying to find out what happened to Catherine Puorro (nee DelVisco). Which cemetery is she buried in, if you wouldn't mind my asking? Thanks.
My connection is thru the Vitale family - if this is the correct Catherine there was a family tragedy when she was young and my dad's uncle ended up taking her and her brother in. I may be incorrect, but all the info you are all talking about seems to fit. Thanks so much.
I am north of Boston, so would love to find her grave.

Fred: You say you are connected to a D'Apote family? In my notes at the bottom of a page (I am the one trying to find Catherine DelVisco Puorro) there is a note (made by my sister) that says Marion D'Apote (Plymouth). Does that name mean anything to you? Do you have any Vitale connections? Thanks!!!

Catherine Puorro is buried in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA. She died in 1975 at the age of 63.

I know Marion D'Apote. Gaetano Vitale married a second time. Marion D'Apote was the daughter of his second wife. He sent to Italy for his second wife, and she came over with her daughter. Catherine Puorro was good friends with Marion D'Apote, who was a few years younger.
