Hello,

I have been working on my husband's family tree for about four years now. I have copied a lot of marriage and baptism records and I would be willing to help both of you if I can. If you have specific names for people up to 1905 I can find them here in MA, if they are after that I am going to the Chancery on Mon. Jan. 31 and if you have names in Boston I will try to see what I can find. I am curious about the family in Avon because I am trying to see if the family of Felix or Felice and Jennie Puopolo who lived on Pagr Street are related to my husband.

Let me know if I can be of help.

hi Carole,i have just started my own search and came across your message board.I am doing my own search which you can read on the same board so I won't have to rewrite the whole thing. My question is,did your Jennie Puopolo marry a guy named Joseph Capone? All our family is now from the Boston and surrounding areas and on my message board i have how they all had cancer, their husband/wifes names since there are 9 siblings of this Puopolo family. If you have any info that might help please contact me

Dear Alex,

Great to hear from you. Our family is from Anzano di Puglia, formerly called Anzano degli Irpini, I believe. My father -in-law had a cousin Giuseppe Puopolo who moved to Australia but he(Giuseppe)has relatives living here in the Boston area. I have been working on the Puopolo famiily history here in Boston for about 5 1/2 years so I have found many, many Puopolos. My father-in-law always used to say all the Puopolos were related. Did any of your relatives go to Canada? I understand some people settled there also. I would be interested to know who your grandparents or greatgrandparents were as from their names I might be able to tell you if they are related to any one here in Boston.

Hi Alex,

I checked through all my records and Anzano is the only town I can find recorded for the Puopolo's here in Massachusetts. Sometimes they also say Anzano,Avellino. Is Avellino a province?
I looked for a Saverio Puopolo and I found one "boarding with Angelo Torta" on Endicott St. Boston in the 1920 City census. Could that be your grandfather? The name Crecenzo intrigued me because a Marciano Puopolo had a daughter Lucia who had a son Crecenzio Cardalisco. The Cardalisco's also lived in Boston.
My husband's great grandfather was Euplio Puopolo; has anyone in your family heard of anyone with that name?
Best regards, Carole

hi carole...thanx u for responding.....my grandfather left for boston in roughly 1913 or 14 with his brother crescenzo..he returned before 1920 ,his first son was born in that year back in the village...where i come from is a village bout 1 mile from anzano called mastralessio....if u have native anzaneses there they will know of the frazione as we call it in our dialect..avellino is a provence as my mom was born in a village called scampitella which is roughly 2 miles from anzano...the native anzanese know of this village as lots of anzanese married to people from this village ...i do have an auntie that lives in boston ..her name is rosina i think...her other sister carmella passed away some years ago...also have other paesano's that i have met here in Adelaide South Australia who have the surname nuzzo..as for the name eluplio or elio as it is known here ...i to my knowledge dont know any puopolo's with that as there first name....here in australia we are a very large comunity with puopolo's in Adelaide ,Sydney and Melbourne.....over 1,000 puopolo's reside in australia...we also celebrate la feste della madonna di Anzano here as well as in boston..my real name is Alessandro Puopolo and migrated to Australia with my family in 1965...

Hi Michelle,
The Jennie Puopolo I am looking for information about was married to Felix or Felice Puopolo. Her maiden name was Frana.
However, I do know some of your relatives. Some of the Puopolo's who have entered their names on the family tree are cousins of your grandmother. Their father grandfather was Rocco's brother. His name was Antonio.
