How lucky you are! Your branch of the family is detailed in Burke's Irish Families. I was able to see a copy in our local library. I have been researching this family for about 7 years and am familiar with John. Let me know if you have any problems getting info.

Barbara,
John Punch was married to Amelia Harriet Barter (Bond, parents Harmer Bond and Isabella Day)) who came to Australia as a widow with her daughters Margaret, Isabella Helena and Amelia. Margaret was married to my maternal Great Great Grandfather, Thomas Clancy from Cork. So John Punch would be my Great Great Great Grandfather. (?)My cousin, now deceased, did trace the Punch line back to 15th Century in Ireland, and I will have a look at Burkes when I next visit the library.
Ray.

My Great Great Grandmother known as Katherine Punch emmigrated from Ireland to Boston Massachusets in the mid-to-late 1800's. Her given name might be Ellen Katherine Punch. If anyone has any information regarding Katherine please drop me a line. Thanks!

Interesting lead. I think my Punch relative was older than Hannah Punch. They could be related. Ellen Kathrine Punch immigrated from Ireland to Massachusetts in the early to mid 1800's. She married John McCarthy and had several children. Have you been to County Cork? I'm going to Ireland next month and hope to visit. I hear it's beautiful. Thanks for the info,
Lisa

Ray,

I am related to Patrick Punch, son of a John Punch and Mary. Patrick was born abt. 1824 and he married Mary Archdeacon. Both of them are listed as being born in Ireland, but no county given. The Patrick Punch family lived in the Boston area. Patrick was hostler.

If you are aware of this family, I would appreciate hearing from you.
