Greetings I'm new to Ancestry.com...paternally I'm descended from a Pugh family that settled in upstate New York and is from Wales so far my research has lead me to my 3x great grandfather Henry Pugh who came from Wales and was born about 1841. He married Olive Cornelia Cady (Pugh) I was able to do some research on the Cady line but that's still in the works. Their son was James Edwin Pugh who married a Nellie Rowland and subsequently there was an Irving Edwin Pugh Sr. born in Springfield Mass in about 1893 which is my great grandfather. He married an Elizabeth Mary Ellingham and I was able to trace her roots to 1700's Ireland but I have little research on the Pughs themselves prior to arriving in America and I was wondering if these names at all ring a bell or if anyone could offer some assistance? My grandfather was Irving Edwin Pugh Jr. (1926-1979) of Little Falls New York. If that helps any as well. Thanks to anyone who maybe has some information.

Maternally I am descended from the Pugh family. I came across a tree I did in high school . James Elon Pugh (4/16/1866-5/19/1906) .His parents were Henry Pugh and Cornelia Cady Pugh. That's all I had on them. Nellie Rowland (8/26/1866-10/9/1943) daughter of Jane Wilcox Wilson Rowland (9/12/1842-12/21/1922) and Jacob Rowland (12/29/1837-7/24/1921). Jane Wilcox Wilson Rowland's parents were John Wilson and Jane Wilcox Wilson. No dates available. Jacob Rowland's parents were Nancy Slocum (2/8/1808-9/22/1898) and Samuel Rowland (5/29/1800-?). Nancy Slocum has a Frances Slocum (7/1773-?) not sure if mom or dad. Mathilda Weaver and John Rowland (1772-1849) parents of Sam Rowland. Susan Foster and Samuel Rowland Jr.(4/18/1754-6/6/1826) parents of John Rowland. Anna Rogers (4/8/1733-?) and Samuel Rowland (7/17/1732-11/23/1804) parents of Sam Jr. That's all I have for now. I want to find the papers my grandma had again. Very interesting.

Christine,
Your names and dates match up with mine. I've been able to get some information on the Rowlands and Slocum lines but nothing on the Wilson/Wilcox line. Are you by chance the granddaughter of Elizabeth "Betty" Pugh-Hagelberger? My grandfather was her younger brother Irving "Eddy" Pugh. If so we'd be second cousins. I've been trying to get in touch with Gayle Sitarek as well, my dad and Aunts have been asking about our New York cousins.

I also have some information on Henry Pugh and Olive Cornelia Cady. The Cady family more extensively than then Pugh's as I can only go back about another generation.
