I am also looking for information on my great-grandfather Berry Benjamin Pugh. All I know about his mother is that she was 1/2 Native American. According to the census he was born in Georgia between 1845-1850.

Several Pughs were married in Clarke Co., GA.

My great grandmother was Lela Pugh. She had sisters who were twins Hatt and Matt Pugh. Their picture is on the Clarke Co., GA rootsweb.com web site. I do not have a picture of Lela. I found where she married my great grandfather Ed Burger in Greene Co., GA. I found the mother and father of the Pugh family in Greene Co., GA (I have a copy of the marriage license for Ed Burger and Lela Pugh). I found a death cert for the mother of the Pugh daughters.

If interested in what I have found on the Pughs in Ga, write me direct connie1370@charter.net. My FT is down now or I would give it to you here.

Rhonda...Pearl Truelove was married to James W. Pugh, at the age of 15. In the 1930 census for Atlanta, Fulton, GA, Pearl, age 39, and your grandfather, Dallas (Dike), age 19, were paying $14.00 per month rent. Pearl was unemployed, and Dallas worked as a clerk in a railroad office. n the 1930 census, her husband, James, is not listed...maybe deceased. According to the 1920 census for Atlanta, Fulton, GA, James was age 37, worked as a driver for an oil company, and could neither read nor write. Here, Pearl's age is shown as 31, which is not consistent with her reported age in the 1930 census (39) Sometimes, I think ladies fudge a little on their ages. James MAY have been the son of Thomas and Mary J. Pugh, found in the 1880 census for Flowery Branch, Hall, GA. Possible, but not a sure thing. Drop me a line when you can.
