My family comes from Odessa, bearing the family name Pugach, but that's already 1930-40s and I dont have many details: The great grandma's name was Sofia, her husband's - Viktor. Had a daughter (Zeuta or Sveta) and a son (RuviN), also were raising a nephew (Mikhail). The daughter was shot by nazi army in Berezovka, odessa Region. Ruvin and Mikhail (Berkovich Mikhail Lazarevich) survived, also had a cousin (Gelman Vladimir), with whom they communicated. As per the talks my mother remembers, grandpa Ruvin was always reviewing the newspapers for the relatived who left for either Argentina or Australia, but that might be in reference to an older period of time (1930s was another emigration from Ukraine). To prevent my mother from anti-jewish policies of USSR he tried to avoid telling any information. He died in 1989 - I didn't start any precise family info search yet, just looking through inet from time to time.
