Hello Dee, Jenette Elizabeth LeMay was born 7/11/1870 in New York to Benjamin and Selina LeMay. After they moved to Michigan,Jenette LeMay married someone named Parrant or Parant about 1886 which resulted in her two sons Burton and Joseph. Do you know anything of this man or the marriage?

Good to hear from you Aquaman10, I have seen many of your postings on the Puffer board.
What I know is somewhat confusing. John Puffer my husbands grandfather was married to her, according to the 1956 genealogy it says;
John Puffers dob 1859,born in Fairgrove, MI Married Nov.28, 1896 Died June 19, 1929.Married Jeanette Parent Nov.28, 1896, Born July 16, 1870 Watertown, NY, died Nove 7, 1948.
The above data was an addemdum to the original 1956 genealogy report.I will get to that in a minute. Harold J. Puffer and his brother Alphonse were HALF brothers to Joseph Benjamin Parent (he went by Ben most of the time, also a most interesesting person and no children) Bertram (Bert)Parent also a Half brother to Harold and Alphonse Puffer.
Now the original 1956 report says John Puffer married Nettie Perron...Thats it... Leaves me hanging, I know more about the other families then I do this one. Now Harold was born in 1901 and Alphonse 1904, remember original report does not mention LeMay only the addemdum does.
There is a post from a Frances Puffer on this board dated January 17, 2000, she mentions that John Puffer was buried in Baltimore, MD, and that LeMay had a sister in Alpena, her name was Pearl Johnson and Jeanette may have married again after John Puffer, and her last name was McDonald. Oh and perhaps another sister named Florence. If Ben Parent is a relative of yours I can tell you quite a bit about him storys from my husband, Ben never had children and they did alot for Harolds son and Al's daughter Frances, she was named after France Moore Puffer, (Harolds wife)forgive me if this is scrambled I worked 11-7 last night and have not been to bed yet.
What is your connection to LeMay?
Dee

Surnames: LeMay, Puffer, Parant,
Hi Dee, I'm Larry. My line is actually from Vermont to Iowa then the Twin Cities. Luckily, my family skipped New York which would have made it near impossible to trace anyone. My nearest connection to the Nutt book is Alfred Edson Puffer (p.160) He is my Great-Great-Grandfather. Mostly I have taken the Nutt book and expanded on it. I entered all the data contained in it and attempted to verify the data. Then I expanded one generation up and down where possible. Now I have 30,000 people in it and am still a long way from complete. You know curiosity killed the cat, genealogy is a very fulfilling mystery. While Brad was questioning his ties in Michigan I began to look over loose ends in that line and was able though our discussions to add to my database. I know that Jenette LeMay had two sisters (according to the 1880 census in Bay City, Mi.) Mary A. LeMay b. 1878 NY., and Frances S. LeMay born 10/1879 in Bay City. I know nothing further about them, yet. And yes Jenette (LeMay) Parant Puffer remarried after John, she married Allen McDonald on 12/13/1921 in Genesee County, Michigan. I really know little about the four boys Bertram, Joseph, Harold and Alphonse, do you have marriage data and family information on them?

Thank you for the LeMay information. I have marriage dates on all four brothers,
I'm rather confused about Jeanetts marriages. I saw a post that said John Puffer was buried in Baltimore, June 19, 1929. My husband said the brothers Harold, Al, I am not sure about Bert, but the two brothers during the depression lived together and took care of their mother and a death bed wish from the mother was for the two brothers Ben (Joseph) and Harold to make up and thus they did. But, did the brothers take care of Allen McDonald? or did he die in MI and then the mother moved to NY to live with the brothers.

Hello Dee, I don't have much on Harold James Puffer or his brother Alphonse after they were born. In fact I can't find them in the census. Do you know who they married and where they lived? I also have not traced the Parant boys. I think I will eventually find them. I only just discovered the marriage of Jenette LeMay to McDonald so I haven't yet determined where they went either. If You have any names, dates or places for them all it might make it easier to find them.

I am wondering about this ... Jennette LeMay from Watertown New York. My Grandmother was Caroline LeMay of Watertown New York ... daughter of Alfred LeMay of Watertown (son of Francois Cyrele LeMay of Denmark or Copenhagen New York) and Jennie Pfister. Who were Jennette's parents? Thank you.

Surnames: Puffer, VanAtta, Stanton
Polly Ann was a VanAtta/Vanatta. The families lived near each other in Watson.
Can you tell me if there was a Stanton connection? Isaac Stanton lived as neighbor to the VanAtta and Puffers. Isaacs father is Eli Stanton, I believe from Stonington Ct. The reason I ask is that some of the land records mention Polly Ann Puffer and 'The Stanton Lot'- there is also a Puffer lot. Puffer was one of the earliest Adirondack guides- he guided Constable (Constable Hall- Constableville, Lewis County NY) and there is a Puffer Pond but Im not sure of the location.
