Alice Mehling, age 94, of Piqua, Ohio died at 7:55 a.m. on Tuesday, March 02, 2010 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, Ohio.

She was born in Tiffin, Ohio on July 21, 1915 to the late Earl and Gretchen (Daus) Puffenberger.
On May 25, 1946, she married Paul Mehling in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Tiffin, OH. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2000.

Alice is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gretchen & Gary Roeth, Piqua, and Theresa & Rick Feller, Bonita Springs, FL; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard & Dorothy Puffenberger, Tiffin, OH; four grandchildren, Andrew Roeth, Westerville, OH, Megan (Danny) Kunath, Spring Hill, TN, Matt (Beth) Feller, Elk Grove, CA, and Doug Feller, Mobile, AL; two great grandchildren, Kate Feller, and Harper Kunath; in-laws, Julie Mehling, Fremont, OH, Rose & Gay Bowden, Fremont, OH, and Cyril & Mary Mehling, Doylestown, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Sr. Mary Gretchen OSU.

Alice graduated from Calvert High School, Tiffin, OH. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Piqua, Ohio

She served as president on the Board of the Fremont Council of Campfire girls, the Board of the Girl Scouts in the Dayton Area, was secretary of the Board of Miami Co. Red Cross, was executive director of the Miami Co. Unit of the American Cancer Society from 1963-1968.
She was also a member of Unit 121 Fremont American Legion Auxiliary for 58 years, charter member of the 8 et 40 Salon 1057 in Sandusky County, and a member of the Elks Club, Piqua. Alice worked as an auditor at the National Bank of Defiance from 1968-1975. Alice and her husband were co-owners of Quality Quick Printing from 1975 until retiring in 1985.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Piqua .
Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua.
Calling hours will be from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua.
