I believe I have heard my mother and aunt talk about a Pink and Loan. Pink was a common name back then, I believe, but I will talk to my mom and my aunt soon and will email you if I find out anything. Liz

Maybe you can help me out. I have one Pink Losh, born about 1882, who married Betty Mae Puffenbarger, born 1882 in Augusta Co., VA, on 11-16-1906 in Staunton, Augusta Co., VA. Betty Mae's parents were Samuel Puffenbarger and Elizabeth Hoover. Who were Pink Losh's parents?

All that I have found out so far is his mother. Her name was Amanda Jane Losh. Her parents are Joshua and Jane (Botkin) Losh. I am still trying to find out who his father is. I will let you know when I find out.

Have you read the Puffenbarger Family History that's in the library at Franklin, WV? I didn't read much of it but made notes that Henry Puffenbarger died 3 July 1855, in Pendleton Co., married Mary Hiser and was the son of John George and Elizabeth Gally Puffenbarger. I don't know which of the Puffenbarger descendents wrote it and I'm sorry I didn't record the whole document.
Maybe someone in that area can be encouraged to go to the library and check out some more data.

Hi, Jeffery:
Reuban Puffenbarger is on the Pendl. Co. census for 1860, age 3; so he was born in 1857. I could find no birth record for him.
He married Mary Belle Waggoner, b. 1872, d. 12 Dec 1896, on 30 Apr 1893. They had one child; Ethel G. Puffenbarger, b. 5 July 1894.
Reuban married Ida G. Mitchell, 8 Oct 1897 (Pendl. Co. marriage record) and he died of heart failure, 24 Oct 1924.
Vernon is on the birth record Pendl. Co., as born 16 Oct 1904; and Lucy as b. 1907.
Thanks for providing Ernest and Wesley. I missed their names somehow.
Sorry I can't get to reunion (age, and all) but please contact me through the message boards. Sally

Anyone still monitoring this post?

One set of my wife's great grandparents were Henry Peter Puffenbarger
(1836-1914, born in PA, died in Chicago) and Catharine (?). His parents were
John Puffenbarger and Elizabeth Kieffer My wife's grandmother was Madge Hemming Puffenbarger, married Robert Ismond Hill.

Do you have any info on this branch?

Hi Robert,

I am still monitoring this post. I have been researching this line for a few years now. It is very difficult!!! I just logged in now to see if my wife has any new DNA matches with the Puffenbarger surname, but nothing new. I then checked the message boards and found this posting. It would be very helpful if your wife has done the Ancestry DNA test. Has she??? I have corresponded with Dr. Thomas Poffenberger who wrote "From Germany to Antietam, The Early History of the Pfaffenberger Family". I still can't confirm which line Henry Peter Puffenbarger comes from. I was hoping DNA might help, but nothing yet. I can send you an invite to our family tree so you can take a look at what I have. I contacted the Freemasons also and they gave me some information about Henry Peter and his son Herman Egbert. Looking forward to hearing from you so we can share information and research together.
