I'm looking to find out some more information about my ancestry. All i know right now is that i'm decendant of a guy named Lazaro Puente that migrated from spain to Puerto rico in the 1800's . He then had a little affair with a slave (all i know about her is that her owners gave her their last name, Amsterdam), who beared his child. He did not wanted to recognize this child as his own, so apparently that was the first case that went to court in Puerto Rico about a paternity contesting( is listed on the law books in PR but i havent look it up) . The name of the child was Martin Puente. I dont know who he married, but his son was also Martin Puente, who was my grandfather. Martin Puente Married Magdalena Franco. They beared many Children. My father was one of the yougest< Humberto Puente, who died 18 years ago. I dont think he knew much about his father either because both our dads died when we were 3 years old. Anyone who can point me in the right direction for research or knows anything about the past of the Puente's from PR please let me know. also if you are related please email me, i would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Larazo Puente Compostizo inmigrated to PR about 1850, and is buried in the little village of Rubayo, Cantabria (Northern Spain). He had a sister Facunda in Heras, Cantabria, and a brother Maximino who lived in Rubayo . As I Heard, Lazaro had real estate in San Juan. My family has ancesters in common with the Puentes. We might be related. Jordi
