I've just found an Ontario death certificate for a James Thompson HUGGINS, who died 9th June 1927. The reason this certificate interests me is twofold:
(1) his father, William, was from Ireland; and,
(2) his middle name is THOMPSON, a maternal surname in the HUGGINS family line from Glenarb townland, near Caledon, County Tyrone.

According to this James' death certificate, his mother's name was Sarah PUE, and she was from Ireland.

I've found James' family in the 1881 Canada census, as outlined below. However, there, his father's birthplace is given as Ontario.

Census Place: Monahan South, Peterborough West, Ontario

- James T. HUGGINS, 13, Irish, born in Ontario, Farmer Son, C. Presbyterian
- Andrew G. HUGGINS, 10, Irish, born in Ontario, Farmer Son, C. Presbyterian

At the time of James T. HUGGINS' death on 9th June 1927, he was living at W.1/2 Lot 5, Conc 6, Emily Twp. in Victoria County, Ontario. He was 56 years, 8 months old; born in Monaghan Twp on 9th Oct 1870. His son, Frederick HUGGINS, of Omemee, was the informant of the death to the Registrar's Office. James was buried at Riverside Cemetery in the Twp of Ops near Lindsay, Ontario.

Is anyone researching a PUE family from either County Armagh or County Tyrone, who might be able to shed some light on this PUE & HUGGINS union?

Thanks in advance,
