Hello,
My Great Grandmothers maiden name was Rose Puda
She married John Jedrzejas in the chicago area
about 1910. Then moved to the Flint MI area.
Could we be related some how?

Rose Ann Puda married to Walter John Puda
Roses' maiden name is Schlott, I'm guessing German
I'm sure. Rose, my mother died in 1969. My father Walter,
died in 1947. Grandpa was named Joseph.

My father, as a child knew a man by the name of Joseph Puda, in Poland, associated with mining and who's trade was carpentry. Could this be a relation to you? Am curious, as a Joseph Puda was listed on an immigration passenger list, up to 1940. This name was brought up just over a week ago in a conversation with my father, as I was looking through records and pictures for genealogy information for family searches.
Did your grandfather immigrate to the USA? If so, what year?
This would tell me if there could be a connection.

The best information I would have is the family immigrating to the USA in 1913. Joseph was married to Sophia and came over with my dad Ladislaus Puda later changed to Walter Puda. Joseph was my grandfather and was a farmer all of his life, or as far back as I can remember.

Thank you for responding to my message. The immigration timing would not correspond with the Joseph Puda that my father knew as a child in Poland. The Joseph Puda that I am searching for had to have been born in or around the 1880's, according to the information that my father gave me. .....and also, Joseph was still in Poland, up until 1930 or so.

By any chance, were your grandparents from Poland or Czechoslovakia? Do you know if Puda was a common name, as the name Schmidt would be in Germany? Also, do you know of brothers or cousins of your Grandfather that may have carried the last name of Puda?

Thank you again, for replying to my query, William. I appreciate your taking the time to do so. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Kind regards and many thanks,
Tillie
