Hi Joe.

I have been researching my great grandfather, Angelo Pucciariello. I have learned that he and my great grandmother (Lucia Lardieri Pucciariello) were both from Buccino, Italy. They settled in Altoona, Pa. where my g. grandfather worked for the PRR. He was a founding member of a private Italian club called the Buccinese Club. The 1920 census lists his name as Pucciariello as do the club membership records. However, between 1920 and 1930 the spelling was altered to Pucciarella.

I am still searching for information about his family. If you know anything about Angelo, let me know.

Thanks
Michelle

Hello Joe,
According to your e-mail, it sounds like Lucia and Angelo where the parents of my cousin, Josephine Pucciariello, who had several brothers and sisters who changed the spelling from Pucciariello to Pucciariella. There names where Jane (deceased), Danny (who was a policeman in Severana Park, MD), also a brother Jimmy and a sister Camille (Marie) who all lived in Maryland. My grandmother, Anna was a Pucciariello before marriage. Her father was Nicholas from Italy (do not know town). She had a twin brother and sister, Frank and Mary Pucciariello (who are also deceased). I believe this is the same family. I am trying to locate my cousin Josephine Pucciariello who was from Altoona, PA and was in a nursing home. They where definetly residents of Altoona, PA and several of the family went to Maryland. I hope you succeed in finding the rest of your family. I will try to find out more from cousins of mine and get back to you. Thanks for your inquiry.

Marianne and Linda,

I am Michelle Barros the person who posted the query about the Pucciariellos. You replied to Joe, but it was my query about Lucia and Angelo. I am the granddaughter of Frank (and Hazel) Pucciarella from Altoona. My mother is Carmel Pucciarella-Trimarco. I am sad to say that my great aunt Jo (your cousin Josephine) passed away this Fall. I remember visiting her and Uncle Danny's house when I was a kid. In fact we lived about five minutes from there. I am very interested in your reply, and I have some more questions for you about my family. How are you related to Josephine? I have spoken to my great uncle Danny a few times in the last year. He does not know much about his grandparents. I have discovered that they are from Buccino Italy. I found the ship manifest for Lucia and her brother Vincenzo. I would love to correspond directly with you. Please email me at: mbarros@worldnet.att.net I am unclear if Marianne or Linda responded to the message, but I thank you for doing so. I did not know that my grandfather was a twin.

Giuseppe Antonio Trimarco was from Buccino, Italy. He was born in 1877. He came to US in 1905. He settled in Jenners and Altoona, Pennsylvania. He was married to Rosina Gallucci. Let me know if there's a connection. I have more info. Hope this helps for now. -Michelle

Michelle,

My ggf was GianBattiste Pucciariello and was also born in Buccino. He left there and married in Ferrandina in 1882 before coming to NYC in 1893. I know of the Buccinese Club in Altoona - spoke to someone there today - who said that your Angelo was a founding member. Have you gotten any further with your Pucciariello / Buccino research? As you probably know, there are no LDS microfilms of Buccino. I have an e-amil address for the church there but have to work on translating my request to Italian. Would be interested to hear if you have any newer news.
Thanks,
