I am researching my father's family. I know his Grandfather, Lawrence or Lorenzo Puca and Grandmother, Josephine Grappa Puca, came from Naples Italy in 1910. His father, Thomas Frank Puca, had 4 brothers, Louis, Andrew, Carl, and Anthony and 3 sisters, Fannie, Carmella, and Teresa. That is about as far as I have gotten. If anyone would like to email me in regards to the Puca's please do so.

My name is Adelena (Rossetti) Angelcyk and I too am interested in the Puca surname since my great-great grandmother was Rosa Puca. My GG-grandfather was Tomaso Nicola Rossetti b. June 15, 1817. Rosa Puca, was born about 1821 and died before 1869. My ancestors nearly all came
from Lettopalena, Italy. All that is, except Rosa Puca! She is the only Puca in our family tree, which numbers over 48000 in the current version. You can view our tree at: http://www.angelcyk.com/gene then click on Lettopalena.

My husband Gene has been searching the web for connections between Rosa and other Puca families and has come up with a big zero so far. One thing that he did note though is that nearly all of the Puca's who immigrated to the US came from a little town in Italy named San Antimo which is NW of Rome. San Antimo is not that far from Lettopalena (about 250 miles) and I suppose it is possible that my GG gf could have met Rosa while he was in the military, married her, and brought her back to Lettopalena to raise their family.

Questions? What town did your Puca lineage originate from? Do you have a family tree put together? If you do, do you have a Rosa Puca in it? Any info that you can provide will be helpful and sincerely appreciated.

Thanks,

Adelena

My grandfather was Andrew Puca. He died around 1988. They called him Lefty and I believe I remember he had a brother named Carl.

My father is Andrew Puca, Jr. He has 3 daughters and 7 (almost 8) grandchildren.

Adelena, I find it very interesting that you have found that most Puca's come from San Antimo. I have many ancestors from the town Sant' Antimo which in this case is not near Rome but just outside of Naples. I visited there in 1979. One of them is my g-g-g grandmother Carmela Puca. She was married to Arcangelo Marruccella and their daughter Fortuna Rosa Anna Marruccella was born there 6 Oct 1851. Other names from this town that I am interested in are Beneduce, Di Biase, and Pirozzi. Any chance that you are mistaken about the location of your town?

Were your ancestors from the town of Sant'Antimo, which is just north of Naples? My paternal grandfather, Antimo Puca, was born in 1896 and came from this town. His father, Stefano was born in 1871 and emigrated in the early 1900's to New York City's East Harlem. I think that he had a brother named Raffaele, and had cousins that lived on Mulberry St., Brooklyn and the Bronx. He changed his name to Puco, I'm not sure why. I have been doing my family history for over 3 yrs now, and I have come upon many Puca's, while searching ship manifests, census records, etc. You can email me at avaberry3@aol.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
