I have a John Henry Publicover who married a Sarah Abigail Falt on December 20, 1854 in Chester, NS.
My problem is that John Henry has 2 different sets of parents...can anyone tell me which is correct.
1) Michael & Elizabeth (Hawboldt) Publicover or 2) Frederick & Catherine (Goetz) Publicover
I have info on John Henry & Sarah Abigails descendants if any one is interested.
Thank you,
Barbara

Yes, John Henry was the son of Michael. John died in 1905 and was my Great Grandfather.

Thank you for the clarification on who John Henry's parents were. My relatives are the Falt's, but if you have any info on Publicover you would like to share, I would love to receive it.
Thank you, Barbara

Barbara, Many years ago I was travelling with my parents in Nova Scotia and we spent the night with a Tyra or Tira Falt. this would have been around 1971 or so. I think my Dad said that she was his distant cousin. Do you have a relative by that name?

Sheldon,
Here goes nothing.....Tira Falt is my grandmothers 1/2 sister. As far as I know they considered each other real sisters because my grandmothers mother (my greatgrandmother) passed away during childbirth (at least that is what I remember) My greatgrandfather then remarried within a year.
I think our connection is as follows, that is IF you were born February 22, 1940.
My great great grandfather is your great grandmothers brother. here is a small breakdown, let me know if this is correct.
Sheldon F- Warren Publicover M- Anita Smith Warren F - Charles Henry Publicover M - Mary Ann Mann Charles F- John Henry Publicover M - Sarah Abigail Falt Sarah F - Joseph Falt M - Sarah Pennel
Barbara F - David Cowhig M - Margaret Phillips David F - Francis Xavier Cowhig M - Avernia May Falt Avernia F - **Joseph Arthur Falt M - Cassie McLean Joseph F - James William Falt M - Mary Jane Hatt James F - Joseph Falt M - Sarah Pennel
** Joseph Arthur Falt second wife is Barbara Mary Hulbert Their children are Daniel, Statira (Tira) and Catherine So that is the connection I have....if you want more info, I would be more then happy to send it to you.
Thanks, Barbara

Hello All!
My sister-in-law, Laura Wilhemina Publicover Plickett Fisher, traces her ancestry back to Pieter (?) Johannes (?) Bubickhofer, (?). I imagine that all the Publicovers are related. Apparently the name was created in Nova Scotia, by an immigration official who couldn't spell Bubickhofer, so he changed it on the spot to Publicover.
Have I got the story straight?
Cheers from the West Coast.
