My father was Charles Warren Hutchinson Publicover, born in Gabarus,Cape Breton Island in March, 1903 and was buried in Lunenburg in 1975. His father Charles was born and is buried in Blandford. Charles was a master mariner and sailed for many years. He had about eight siblings. I would be interested in any information you may have on the Publicovers.

I am looking for information on a Frances or Fanny
Publicover who was born about 1855 to 1864 in or
near Luenburg. She married James Emmanuel Croft
from Queen's Co. NS about 1880.

I am not related to the Publicovers but would be distantly related to you via your grandmother Mary Ann Mann and her mother Lydia Cann and through both of her parents; Thomas Cann and Mary Bagnell.

In case you did not know, your grandmother Mary Ann Mann was born 01 SEP 1868 at Gabarus and died there on 10 DEC 1903. She is buried in the Harbour Cemetery up at the top next to the fence. Your Dad's birthdate I'm sure you have. He was baptized in the Gabarus Methodist Church on 16
May 1903. Your grandfather's dates I simply have as b.1866 and d.1948 from a transcript I saw of St. Barnabus Cem, Blandford, Lun. Co. where he is apparently buried.

I have loads of information on your grandmother's family if you are interested.

Jennifer
