Have been working on the family tree for about 2 years now and am looking for anyone that can connect this name to their family name of Walaszkiewicz, Thecla, Bernard and Leo. I believe Josephine Ptaszek's parents were the Walaszkiewicz's, Bernice and ?.

BINGO! This name is not very common. Maybe we have a match. Do you have any Ptaszek from the Chicago area? Please let me know. Our connection is Stanley Ptaszek. Thanks Barbara

Hi! I received your message today. Unfortunately I know of no one in the family named Stanley Ptaszek. But yes, all the Ptaszeks in my family are from Chicago recently and Poland prior to that. My great-grandfather was Ignatzy or Ignatius Ptaszek. Just recently I found that he had a brother and sister I think. Ignatius came over from Poland in 1880. Does this name sound familiar? I know there are a lot of Ptaszeks in Chicago, but to my knowledge only about 1/2 are related unless there's something I don't know about. Maybe we can make a connection. Looking forward to hearing from you again soon.

Andrzej,

Sorry, I hit the wrong key on that last reply. Please tell me where you are from in Poland. Cities, towns and areas. Also, any names of your family that may have come to the USA in the early 1900's. Also, tell me if you still have family in Poland, where they are and if any of them can remember back to the late 1800's and early 1900's. It would be nice to have someone in Poland to talk to and ask questions. O, by the way, I forgot to ask if you are still in Poland or are you in the US. Thank you, Barbara

Mikael,

Hello. You said you have some information. We would like to find out more on the Ptaszek family. There are many of us here in the US that would be interested. I can be reached at TremblingT@aol.com. It would be easier to write me there. Write back soon. Thanks for replying. Barbara

My great grandfather's name was Ignatz Ptaszek. He left Poland in 1880 to come to America (Chicago). I think he came from Kolaczyce. Have you ever heard of him. Also, I'm sending a letter to a Polish Church to obtain a birth certificate. How would I say ..... SEE ATTACHED ..... in Polish?
