My grandfather Pryde came from Scotland (Edinburgh area) and was of the MacDuff clan. Any info on this clan would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I havee read your notice with interest and my great grandfather in the said alexander. he also had a brother david who was mine manager at the westminster colliery in
wrexham and was commissioned and brought from scotland
to north wales to sink the first mine shift in the area. He lived at broughton hall wrexham, which was part and parcel of him
being the mine manager. his brother alexander married harriet who was their servant. David moved from the area and my sister has been delving into his movements and has located him as leaving for America in 1878 from Glasgow
and his destination being new york (port of entry)

alexander had 10 children and was one of 10 children himself. They originated in Selkirk in Scotland and only the two brothers came to wales. The Pryde's in this area are all ralated.

Hope this is of some interest and albeit your notice has been on for quite a while.
