Re: Pryanikov family from Druya and Kraslava
I am looking for a Pranikoff musician who lived in Chicago in the early 1900's. He died in a fire. He was married to a woman named Pearl. Is there any relation?

Re: Pryanikov family from Druya and Kraslava
I think this is Leo Pranikoff, the son of Abraham Pranikoff and Dora. What is your connection with them?
My own interest is in Chaske Pranikoff, the first wife of my grandfather Israel Belanoff. They came from Druya but Chaske died in 1907, soon after their arrival in London.

Re: Pryanikov family from Druya and Kraslava
Pearl and her infant survived the fire. The little I know of this family is that the father (Pranikoff) and other children died. Pearl then went on to remarry and have two more children, one of whom was my father. So, Pearl is my grandmother. And the infant that survived, Abe, was my uncle. I am trying to get information on Pearl.

Re: Pryanikov family from Druya and Kraslava
If you can provide any information on Leo Pranikoff or Pearl, I would appreciate it. It has been very difficult tracing this line back. I just came upon the Pranikoff name. What is your relation to him?

Re: Pryanikov family from Druya and Kraslava
Lois Unfortunately I have no information on Pearl. And while I am probably related to this family I don't yet know exactly how. But I think you would find it useful to contact Howard Pranikoff. Howard, who lives in Florida, is the grandson of Joseph Pranikoff, Leo's brother. By my reckoning this means that you and Howard are second cousins. If you would like to e-mail him privately ( hpranikoff@aol.com) with a copy to me ( tedbelmont@aol.com) I expect he would be interested. Best regards Ted Belmont Leeds, England

Re: Pryanikov family from Druya and Kraslava
Thank you so much, Ted. This is the first possible breakthrough in a long search. I'd like to learn as much as possible about Leo, as well, since, if this is a match, I can inform his surviving grandchild, with whom I'm in contact. I will contact Howard and copy you.

Re: Pryanikov family from Druya and Kraslava
Ted, I happened to come across something in the 1900 Census that might help. There was a Morris Pernikoff, wife Sarah, Children Rachel, Ellen & Charles. Husband & wife born in Russia, children born in England. Living, in 1900, in Massachusetts. Who knows? It might be a misspelling.

Hello Lois, I tried to reply by e-mail but the message came back because the address is wrong.

Re: Pryanikov family from Druya and Kraslava
Dear Ted, I've meet with Howard during his visit to Israel. I've learned a lot about his Pranikoff family branch. I have a question to you: what do you know about Pranikoff's Levitic origin? Best regards to you, -- Leon Koll http://napobo3.lk.net/pryanikov/
