died Tuesday afternoon at his residence
He was born in Altoona, son of the late C. Harold and Edith B. (Rutherford) Pry. He married Susan E. Harshbarger on May 14, 1964, in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife; two children: Christine L. Vicars and husband, Kerry A., and Edgar H. Jr. and wife, Amy, all of Williamsport; five grandchildren: Matthew, Lauryn, Maverick, and twins Hannah and Sydney; a great-grandson, Jaxon Matthew; three siblings: Judy Rhine and husband, John, of Altoona, Jim and wife, Kathy, in Vermont and Edie Ann Frederick and husband, John, of Altoona; two sisters-in-law: Sylvia Boyles of Altoona and Shirley Merritts of Martinsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Edgar was a 1962 graduate of Altoona High School. He was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2001 from Norfolk Southern as a foreman in the shipping department after 33 years of service.

Edgar was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona, and also belonged to the Buccinese Society. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking. His favorite time was spent along the Juniata River.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. He was a quietly generous man.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. A future memorial service is being planned.
