Prucha..Pruka connection

Does anyone know if there is a connection between the two names. In the 1880 census my g g grandfather was listed as Wenzl Prucha and his son as Anton Pruka. Is this a spelling, enunciation or fluke mixup? Or is this a new spelling?

I would say one and the same. Being that the Czech CH is pronounced like a ch in Achtung and in English the CH could give a ch sound as in church or ch pronounced as a K.
It is all in pronounciation.

The city of Praha's phone book is listing the name PRUCHA in very good numbers.

They are the same. Wenzl also means James. Anton was my great grandfather.
