I am looking for ancestors of Jan and Barbara (Paczesniak) Pruc. Supposedly came from Rzeszow to America in early 1900's.Jan had brothers Vladimir,Andrew and Michael. Also sister Anna that married a Joseph Piekik. Some Prucs' may have settled in Pennsylvania after arriving.

Some Pruc's did settle in Pennsylvania because my parents that migrated in 1950 stopped with relatives in PA before settling in Ohio. There were also Pruc's in Michigan and Califorinia. Both are now deceased and both were doctors.

Have you had any luck in tracing the Prucs in Poland? My mother, Bernardine C. Prais, once told me a Pruc was a distant cousin. I don't know what this means. Both of my paternal grandparents came from peasant villages near Rzeszzow. Grandpa Stanley John Wozniak came from Drabinionka in 1902 and grandma Rozalia Paczesniak came from Biala in 1904. They originally settled in McKeesport, PA. He worked for the National Tube Company. Eventually, they settled on a farm in Plover, WI, a few miles from Stevens Point, WI. If this rings any bells and you would like to correspond, I can be reached at

Thanks -- John S. Wozniak

Please feel free to check out our tree. We are distant cousins by the sounds of it. I would like to collaberate.
What is the exact relationship between Rozalia Paczesniak and Barbara (Paczesniak) Pruc?
