I am looking for information about the parent's of Benjamin Proctor who married Annie Shelton. I have solid documentation up to this point because my DAR patriot is Spencer Shelton, Annie's father. My dad and I have searched probably a total of 30 years for the wall to be broken into the identity of Benjamin's parents. I began looking into this again and found that many members have accepted ancestors for some of seven generations on this line and I would like to know if there is any real sources or is everyone using each other's tree to document this part of our family. I have also seen two distinct families recorded as his parents. One is a Joseph Proctor and Lucretia Stacy and the other is Thomas Proctor and Polly Horn. I have seen Thomas and Joseph used with the other's wife also.

This is very exciting news if the information can be proven with sources. The puzzle can be pieced together with some or all the data provided. Is anyone else interested in documenting the true discovery of Benjamin's parents or has someone actually jumped through the hoops already to get all this new information proven? I am concerned that the information I put in my family tree is accurate data so that it can be shared with everyone. I look forward to hearing from everyone working on this part of our family tree.
