Probst/WV/OH - Can anyone ID these photos?
I'm trying to identify the ladies in the attached photos. I believe they are Probst ancestors, as the photos were found at an old Probst homestead off Route 180 in Wetzel County, WV. Anyone with information, please email me. Thanks!

I do not recogize the photos, but I appreciate their value to the Probst family that is tuning in to your query. Thank you for sharing your photos. What year are they taken, do you know? David Calvin Probst

Re: Probst/WV/OH - Can anyone ID these photos?
Thanks for the interest, David!
I have no idea what years the photos were taken. They are both mounted to some sort of heavy cardstock and there is no handwriting on either. The smaller, circular photo is mounted on cardstock embossed in gold, "Kerr's Studios, Sistersville and New Martinsville, WV." They've been in my possession for around twenty years or so, but no one in the family has been able to identify the subjects thus far. All I know for sure is that they are distant Probst relatives from the Wetzel County area. I'm hoping to make a trip back home this summer with my husband to try to find the family burial plot and the foundation of the house in which I found the photos all those years ago. If I can find the family cemetery, I'll be sure to take lots of photographs and copy down all of the markings to post for everyone on the internet.
Where are your Probsts from?

Re: Probst/WV/OH - Can anyone ID these photos?
Just saw this last night and was surprised to see a likeness to a Susan Probst that I know. Probst being her maiden name and her brother is John Michael Probst - how's that for similarities? John is my son-in-law. Christine McLean

I tried to print off the young womans' picture but the older lady kept printing. I want to give a copy of it to Susans' parents to see what they think. Her parents are in their 80's and one is in nursing care at this time. C.McLean

Re: Probst/WV/OH - Can anyone ID these photos?
The young girl looks very much like Susan Probst Frank but I've been unable to print her picture. The older woman prints every time I try to get the younger girl. Susan is a sister-in-law to one of my daughters. I wish I could copy her picture to send to Susan ( don't know her e-mail address). I can at least get a mailing address for her. If you e-mail me back with your e-mail address, I'll write to her and see if she is interested in looking at the picture. Christine McLean crisbiss_8@hotmail.com

This is very neat! Where in the house did you find the photos? Do you have a picture of the house? Do you know how to get to the cemetery? Thanks! -Eli
