Dear Bill In checking Alice Anns book and some christianing records of the New Jersalem Church I see that Mathias Probst married Philip Peters Fosselmans sister Dorothea (His 2nd wife) also another sister married John Stambach. These families intermarried for years. To update you on my fathers mothers side my grandfather Raymond Fusselman 1890-1975 m Bertha Sharbaugh in Monroe Co PA in 1913 She is decended from Capt John Arndt and Henry Bush and Elias Utt all well known in Northampton Co and Monroe Co PA as first settlers Indian Fighters and REV WAR VETS and Delegates to the Continental Congress in 1781. My ggggrandfather John C Bush owned and operated a popular Wayside Inn in Monroe Co in early 1800s called the LIBERTY HOUSE I am also researching the MILLS and SOLOMAN lines in PA. Have you run across them. They are my roadblocks now. I have written a family history - When I transcribe it will email you if you are interested. Joanne Farrell

Stacey The name Vosselman as far as I know changed to Fosselman as soon as Hans Erhardt came to America in 1732. He had one son Philip Peter Fosselman and Phillip had 6 sons that were either Fosselman or Fusselman. My line is Fusselman. To my knowledge all my decendents stayed in PA or moved to Ohio and west. But who knows. Sorry I could not be of more help. Joanne Farrell

Stacy, I can't help you. The Brobst Registry listings for Vossellman and Fossellman are limited to those who settled in eastern Penna in the 1700s, and their European ancestors. But take a look; perhaps you'll find something that will make a connection for you. Just click on Brobstology below, and go to the database on-line.

Hello Joanne, I have a question for you. I am researching the Vosslman line. My grandmother was a Vosslman before she was adopted. Her father was John Frederick Vosslman. My grandmother knew her father because she was adopted at age 6. Her mother died 5 days after her birth. My question to you is, In your research of the Vosselman line, have you noticed any of the Vosselman line moving to the Montross, Westmoreland Co, Virginia area? That is where my great grandfather was born. I know the last name had to have been changed because I fond no other Vosslman spelled this way. I am hoping you can help me. Thank you for your time.
