Hello, anyone interested in the Proberts of Abergavenny? I can go as far back as my ggg grandfather Charles Probert c1812 Abergavenny. Related surnames are Naile, Masters, Davies and Roberts.

Would love to hear from anyone with connections.

Regards
Kate.

I am linked to this family, I am a descendant of Probert carriage builders of Abergavenny who built the mayors horse drawn carriage late 1800's which is currently stored in Abergavenny museum

Hi Shaun, thanks for making contact. Doesn't seem like almost 9 years since I posted this message.
I've since found more details for Charles 1813-1868. The family were from Llwyndu area of Abergavenny. He was an agricultural and stone quarry labourer. His wife was Anne Davies 1812-1867 of Glasbury, Brecknockshire/Radnorshire. His parents were John Probert (Shoemaker) 1790-1861 and Mary Davies 1792-1849 both of Abergavenny. The Proberts were originally from Carmarthen. I have gone back as far as Thomas Probert c1735.
Would this be the same Probert family? I haven't found any carriage makers.

Kind regards
Katy
