We simply MUST compare notes!!! Green Barry Priest (that's how my family spelled it) had an identical twin brother, Richard Buford Priest! He was my great grandfather. Green Barry married Maxie and I have one of their wedding pictures!

They did, indeed come from TN and settled in Huntsville, AL. Their father's name was Joseph Priest and their mother was Helen Sprawls.

do you know if they had daughters? if they did, what were the names. my great- grandfather is named raymond.

My great great grandfather "Sam Houston Priest" was born between 1855 and 1880 according to census records. He was married to a full cherokee woman whose only name I have is Mary. I have reason to believe they were married in Nevada County Ark. I have not found the documentation yet. If you have any other information along these lines, this might help your search. My father was George W. Priest (he lived most of his life in central TX) he had a brother Fred and 4 or 5 sisters. Dealva, Potsy, Oleeta. . . . I can't remember the rest. My sister was keeper of all family info. She passed last year and her son destroyed all the documentation.
