James Preece, 53, of 234 Cedar street South Jacksonville, died in a Jacksonville hospital early Monday morning after a short illness.
The deceased was the proprietor of the Lafayette Studio on Laura street in Jacksonville and was considered one of the leading photographers of the city. He is a native of England but has lived in this country for a number of years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hermine Preece.
Funeral arrangements are in charge of Thomas M. Burns, the local undertaker and will be announced later.
