This post is for all Filpino Prado's worlwide asking for their roots. Perhaps everyone knew about the changing of surnames in 1848 as decreed by Gov. Gen. Narciso Claveria in the Philippines. As far as I know, the Prado's originated from Malay, Aklan and spread northwards up to Pangasinan and southwards to Davao and Surigao including Iloilo and Negros Occidental. This I based from information from many old people of Panay Island I have interviewed so far.

Prado's from Mangaldan, Pangasinan. my roots: cornelio prado married to donata villanueva; victoriano v prado married to iluminada bolinas cuison; romeo c prado married to elena de guzman gaddi. according to our old folks, cornelio's ancestors was composed of 5 siblings who migrated southwards individually to such places as tarlac, bicol region and the visayas. some prados in the quezon province area have already been traced to have roots coming from pangasinan. cornelio has a brother in the name abundio who's descendants are still within pangasinan. victoriano's siblings are romana prado sy, leonarda prado corla, leonardo prado, gavino prado, caring prado, enciang prado salayog.
