Hi Gary! What Prader's are you working on? My gggrandmother was Agnes Prader (d. 1867) born in Switzerland, came here with husband Nicholas Wulpi, and children in 1866 or 67. Prader family names include Paul, Basi Nina, and Babali. There is a Menga P. married a Henry Christy and a Marie Koch Prader. There is also a Prader that married a Dr. Markoff. All above living in 1920's in Switzerland. Anybody sound familiar? -Sharon

Hi Sharon,
I have been researching / collecting data on my Prater family for over 35 years..... It seems that some of them changed the spelling to Prader....... I posted a message on the Prader list in hopes of finding some of those branches.. My Prater family came from England, the first to arrive in America came here in 1622. So, it looks like you are not from one of the branches that changed to spelling to Prader..... I wish I could find some of them!!! THANKS for your posting and I am sorry that I can not shed any light on your Praders.. GBPrather

I have Prader's that I'm researching. They lived in PA in the 1870 census. It shows that they were from Portugal. Any connections?

Hi Lori: Doesn't sound like anyone in my line. Good luck with your search. -Sharon

Pradier / Pradia / Prader
I am researching the Pradier line aka Pradia, Prader, and sometimes just Prade. My father was Gabrial Pradier, son of Emmanuel Pradier, son of Francois Pradier. Francois Pradier arrived in Louisiana at the age of six or seven from a Spain. He spoke French so I think he probably origined somewhere in France. Francois married more than once, but the wife in my line was Rosalie Cadier.

He is not listed in subsequent years.

Thanks for your msg. The info I have is in the tree in Ancestry.com. If I can somehow link to your info I'll let you know right away. I suspect they are related, there aren't that many people with that name around, I don't believe...
