any Pozega's out their please help.
My great grandfather's name was George Pozega. When he came over to the US from Yougoslavia as a young man, they misspelled thus we became Pozgar. He had two brothers that also came to US after him. His birth year is 1875. He married Teresa Grace Juranich. She was born in Zagreb on 10/18/1889. From what I understand I have cousins that live in Ohio and they had a band called the Pozega Brothers. They wrote a song for my Grandfather Martin.

Hi, my maiden name is Pozega. My family is from Girard, Ohio and my uncles were the Pozega Brothers playing tamburitza music. Will have to ask remaining uncle about a Grandfather Martin and a song. My grandfather's name was Michael (Mile) and grandmother was Barbara. At one time the entire family was in the tamburitza but eventually it was just 3 uncles. What state are you located in?

My mother's maiden name was Pozega (Mary Ann) Her father was Michael Pozega from Croatia. Not sure of exact location and her mom was Sophie. Although we moved to Tennessee most of her family remained in the Lorain area.

My father's name is also Martin. My grandfather also played the tamburitza, he had an opportunity to learn more at Duquense University in Pittsburgh, but my Great Grandparents wouldn't allow. Thought they were going to steal him away from them. Lived w/ that fear all their lives from the old country. My great grandmother saw her family murdered. She was lucky to get away & make it to the states.

Unfortunately I don't. I wreally wish I did. It would make things a little easier. I believe a lot of records died with them or were destroyed during the war.

Hello. I currently live in Connecticut. I was born in Michigan. My father was born in Michigan. My grandfather(dad's dad) was married in Michigan in 1921. Born somewhere in Croatia in 1886. The census says Austria/Hungary. I have found my grandmother's record on Ellis Island. I think I saw Mile in the census records. I think I'm the only Pozega left in my side of family. There are other Pozega's not related to me living in Michigan.
