I'm looking for information about Tilda Jane or Frank Poyner. Their children were Margaret Ruth, Lily, and Lucille, J.D. There were more children but I don't know their names. Margaret Ruth was my Grandmother. I believe they lived in Tennesse and Arkanas.

I have a lot on the TN. and AR Poyners. Could you tell me when your grandmother was born...need a year. Do you have her obituary and do you have Frank's obituary? Important to get them from the newspapers where they lived at the time of their deaths. Then I might be able to help you more. I have hundreds of this Poyner bunch if yours came from TN and also lived either stayed in TN or came to AR.
Let me know
Betty

My Grandmother, Margaret Ruth, was born May,18,1919. I don't have anymore info about Frank except his full name was David Franklin Poyner. I have alot of Poyner relatives still living in Ark. but have lost touch with most. Any help would be appreciated.

J.M. Smith:
If you will get the 1920 Census of the area where your Margaret Ruth was born, it will tell you a lot. Especially note where her parents say they were born, and the birth order and dates of birth of other children as well as the location of their birth. Check the internet for POYNERS in Ark. in the phone directory or E Mail addresses to see if any of the Poyners you used to be in contact with are still there. They may have lots of information for you. We need to get back further than FRANK. Do you have his obituary? His death certificate?? You can order the 1920 Census from the nearest LDS Family History Center for $3.50 .

Betty, do you have Jesse B. Poyner, born 10/27/1827 in Tennessee? He married Frances A. Hall in 1859 in Missouri and they then moved to California where he died in Stockton 11/9/1875. I have not been able to find his family in Tennessee. Thanks. Paul E. (maryc@wolfenet.com)

The only Jessie Poyner I have was born 1869 near Cottage Grove, Henry Co. Tn. He died 1950 Magnum, Oklahoma. Now, he was the son of George Turner Poyner, and Alma Luter. One of their daughters was named Jennie Blanton Poyner. What is the "B" for in your Jessie? Could my Jessie and his sister be named for your Jessie B. Poyner. What county in TN was yours born in? Do you have his obituary from Stockton? What California info on them do you have.
Cheers
Betty
