Thank you so much for your reply. I have worked on the family for about 24 years, and have traced Thomas's family back to Currituck County,NC,and his daughter Mary (Mollie) forward until her death in 1927.

Hello Thanks so much for the reply. I was trying to help sfhaley1 she is on this same board this would be her family line. I found a census in Tennessee Henry county, Thomas was on there. I checked it out as much as I could find. But the wife was said to be 35 and it could be 55 but not clear. I thought if the 35 is the right one the lady could also be second wife. Just don't know enough and these folks. I can find David L Poynor out my ears but not the one I need. Everyone keeps saying it was sone of Jesse Lea Poynor but Jesse Lea Poynor was born in North Carolina not Tennessee. My david was born in Georgia. Nothing if you could tell Haley what you found maybe it would help her. Thanks again for the post Lillie

If it's the 1860 census, then it is Thomas's third wife, Elizabeth Futrell, and she is age 35. Is your friend descended from Thomas? The daughter Mary age 5 was called Mollie.
Thomas also had wives Elizabeth Roberts and Elizabeth Turner. Elizabeth Turner was the mother of his first 8 children.
