Hello Dolores! I am also related to the Poyers, through a daughter of Abiathar Rhodes Poyer. The information I have takes this line back to the mid 1500s. A distant cousin of mine did all the research. I'd be very interested in comparing notes with you, as you say you have the line back to the mid 1400s. Do you think we might be able to compare notes? My e-mail is: drdestructo@hotmail.comHow are you related to the Poyers? :) J.

Me again!
I finally found your John Poyer. There's a lot of them in this book. Ok, let's see. Here's what I have:
John Poyer, born 1781, Sussex Co., NJ. The only info I have on his parents is Thomas Poyer. John married Julia (or Juda) Bennet(maiden name not confirmed). Children: Hannah (about 1800), Rebecca (about 1802), Jane (about 1805), Elizabeth (about 1803), Menche (about 1809), Thomas P. (1809), Terrance Bennett (1812), James Kinney (1822), and Abraham N. (1823).
The death date for John Poyer is February 2nd, 1851 in Frelinghausen, Warren Co., NJ. Records indicated he was a shoemaker.
Any help?
J.

I know some info on the NJ Poyers. I believe they connect to Rev Thomas Poyer, Rector of Grace Church, Jamaica Long Island. He was born in Wales and died in 1731. Married 3 times, last wife was my ancestor, Sarah Oldfield. Rev Thomas and Sarah had 4-5 children. Have been in touch with descendents of some of these children. My direct e mail is djs-crombie@worldnet.att.netDavid

I have been searching for something about the Poyer's that lived on Li, Ny-however have not had much luck. My grandmother first name Beatrice was married to a Joe Poyer, that is all I know. This woman was my fathers mother, he died young, leaving us with virtually little information abouthis family. If this name may be in your research I would appreciate any info you might be able to give me. From what I understand this Beatrice and Joe Poyer lived in around the Babylon area, and this was Joe's second or third marriage. Again, I would appreciate any help you may be able to give me. Thank you Evelyn

Sorry to disappoint you, but my Poyer info is from the 1700s. I connect to Rev Thomas Poyer, Rector of Grace Church, Jamaica LI who died 1731. Suggest that you contact some of the other people on the Poyer surname board - or they might see your reply, or my reply and be able to help you. Sorry that I cant assist.

Jane Poyer - Robert Price
I am a Poyer directly from Jane Poyer and Robert Price. Jane Poyer was the last child of Thomas Poyer and Mary Kinney. It appears that we are cousins. Please email me at price11306@cs.com. Thanks, Don
